The Toronto, ON native is ranked 1st on the CFC100 Class of 2024 Rankings, and played for the Etobicoke Eagles and the now infamous West Toronto program before flying south of the border to suit up at Avon Old Farms in Connecticut to complete his high school career.

The 6’5″, 260lbs prospect quickly became a hot commodity on the recruiting trail tallying 38 offers including Power 5 programs like Michigan, Notre Dame, Texas, Oklahoma, USC, Penn State, Wisconsin, Auburn, Florida and Colorado.

It seemed like smooth sailing for the young prospect going into his senior year with plans to visit his future school in July, but then Umeh’s world was flipped upside down after being diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Despite the horrible circumstances, the Cardinal coaching staff honoured their scholarship offer, and were determined to support Umeh throughout his chemotherapy treatment. After 12 weeks of grueling visits to the hospital, Umeh was told his cancer was in remission, and he could now turn his full attention back towards his football career and getting ready for his big move to California in January.

Umeh will be happy to have another Canuck in the dressing room with CFC100 WR Elic Ayomanor emerging as a star for Stanford last season as a redshirt freshman.
