NCAA knocking for CFC100 Joseph

It was only a matter of time before CFC100 Katley Joseph would get on the scout’s radar down south. Announced via social media, Joseph received his first NCAA offer from the University of Maine.

The 5’11, 185lbs defensive back has been all over the map this off-season to camps and combines as well as unofficial visits to the likes of Syracuse, University of Buffalo, Pittsburgh, University of Southern California, Pennsylvania State, Michigan State, and on it goes.

“I’ve camped in the last couple years at several universities, I’ve been to Syracuse, Penn State, Buffalo, Rutgers and several others,” he said. “In the next couple weeks I will be attending several other school camps down south.”

The St. Matthew’s Tiger from Ottawa, Ontario, stock is heating up. When we reached out to Katley to see how he was reacted to his first offer he said, “I felt a mix of strong emotions and joy when I received my first offer from Maine. It almost felt surreal because even though I’ve been grinding and dedicated those last couple years to chasing my dream you never really know when the schools will pull the trigger on you”.

He went on to say that this offer validated the years of hard work and discipline that he has put into football.

“Nothing was handed to me and, being from Canada, I had to prove that I can play at the same level as Americans. In a word, this offer was a Blessing and I thank God for it,” he said.

While Joseph hasn’t made a commitment yet to any one school, he says that Maine is the first program to make an offer to him and that carries some weight for him.

Maine is the first program to pull the trigger on me and believe in my work ethic, my talent, and me. Therefore, when the time comes to make a decision, this will definitely play a big part.”
