NCAFA (Ottawa Minor): Week 7 report


Some highlights from week 7 in NCAFA action.

TYKE (Under 11)

Rookie Prince Inazala scored 6 TD’s. Derek McKinley and Emmett Vezina lead the defense in Gloucester’s 36-13 win over Kanata. Knight’s Pro Bown Kane Obas was in on 11 tackles.

In just his 2nd game as QB, Sebastien Latour Smith scored twice for East Ottawa in a 34-12 loss to Bell.

Bel Air wins their first, 25-6 vs. South Ottawa. Jaxen Brown, Jonathan Mena and Malcolm MacDonald had TD’s for the Lions.

Aaron McArdle was offensive star, Jay Gleeson lead the defense in West Carleton’s 13-12 win over North Gloucester.

MOSQUITO (Under 13)

Marcus Jones scored his first TD, Alex Giamberadino had an assist on a TD by Brian Franklin. Riders lost for the first time (22-16 to Gatineau.)

Kanata’s Scott Robinson, Michael Kraejer, Dylan Lachance and Doug Mathieson were solid, but Gloucester wins 26-6.

Samson Dube scored the only TD for the Generals in a 36-6 loss to the Bell Warriors.

PEE WEE (Under 15)

In their visit to beautiful Mont Blue field in Gatineau, Myers won 14-7. Mathew Giamberadio and Darryl Jean-Baptiste lead the defense. Sean Edgecombe scored both TD’s.

Didi Vaillancourt rushed for 3 TD’s, Lascelles Lawrence added two more. Gloucester 57, Kanata 0. Daniel Obiang and Cesare Patricelli kicked 7 converts.

Malcom Turgeon had 3 TD’s, Quinn Stewart, Charlie Keenan, Jesse Skucas and Mathew Prescott also scored. Torin MacFadyen and Mike Walsh had interceptions. Bell 50, East Ottawa 0.

Tough week for Nepean. Orleans 34, Redskins 8.

Another shut out for Canterbury! Outstanding defense from Patrick Kelly, Neville Galimore and Mike Miller. Mustangs now 1st in the East.

BANTAM (Under 17)

A late TD helped Kanata remain undefeated. Raiders Connor Rockwell scored on a 20 yard pass from Seb Poitras, 85 yard TD run for Amer El-Zammar. Knights QB Nick Krzaniak had 102 yards passing.

Cody Utlett and Jeremy Rioux lead the pass rush, Stanley Lodge threw 2 TD’s to Chad Oulette (one for 109 yards). Generals 12, Bell 7.

Bel Air wins 28-22 over Canterbury. Johnathan Tshibanga (2), Andrew Sneddon and Nick Goudie all had TD’s. Darragh Magee kicked all 4 converts and was defensive star.

West Carleton won their first game (17-8 over North Gloucester Giants) thanks to TD’s from Jeager Prot and a field goal from Chris Garrett.

Big games from Tam Nuygen, Justin Bosquet, Jordan Doucette, Ethan Goulet, Josh Reyes and Jordan Finn lead the Redskins over Orleans 17-7.

MIDGET (Under 20)

Nepean secures first place blanking Orleans 28-0. Huge OL Phil Mattawashish had a 15 yard interception.
