NCAFA (Ottawa Minor): Week 8 report


Highlights from week 8 for NCAFA. Playoffs begin this weekend!

TYKE (Under 11)

West Carleton scored as the clock ran out, then got the 2 point conversion vs. Nepean.

Samir Lucien, Gabriel Kohlruss, and Bryson Mulready were huge on defense, Djosy Mubembi blocked all day for Shawn Lukusa. Bel-Air 20 – Bell 19.

Kanata’s Jared Valentino had 4 tackles, a fumble recovery and an interception. Connor Ogilvie had 2 TD’s vs Brockville.
Sam Kuntz scored his first ever TD, and added another as East Ottawa fell to Cumberland.

Raiders go 8-0! Michael Slack, Wesley Bailey and Jesse Assaf all had TD’s. Noah Gauthier and Derrek McKinley led the defense.

MOSQUITO (Under 13)

Gavin Goyette, Evan Wilson and Jordan Porter were solid for Kanata, but Brockville wins 7-6.

Redskins’ Nick Sayah had a great game rushing, Joel Briere (multiple TD’s), Stefano Federico kicked a 23 yard FG! Tyler Matys had an INT.

Despite a 40-12 loss, Raiders dominated the 1[SUP]st[/SUP] half and had their best performance of the season against the undefeated Giants.

PEE WEE (Under 15)

Bryan Gray (2 TD’s), Spencer Brunet (TD), Jocelyn β€œElvis” Simard (INT/TD) and Patrick Flegel (INT) lead Myers past Kanata.

Raiders’ Will Karam, Mostafa Kari, Quinlan Walker and Deion Kifung-Banze led the defense, Cesare Patricelli, Justin Poitras, Skyler Alexander, Bryce Simard, Daniel Obiang and Dimitri Vaillancourt all scored vs. The Giants.

Kanata’s Keenan Tanti had 45 yards rushing and a 2 point convert. Kyle King and Logan McKenna had 9 tackles each vs. Myers.

Joseph Pappalia, Dylan Makinson, Ian Boulos and Andrew Gelineau led the offence. Julien Sakr, Andrew Pye, Anthony Ouchakov and Chris Vasilas held Bel-Air scoreless.

Bell Warriors win vs. Bel-Air. Steven Hanzidiakou (3 TD’s), Charlie Keenan, Jesse Skucas, Malcom Turgeon and Conor Redmond, Nate Eisener, Mathew Decarie (converts) each scored. Tyrell Haye, Nick Ieradi and Mathew James led the defense.

Orleans’ Rashari Somerville-Henry gave the Bengals the edge over Gatineau with 3 TD’s, and 200+ yards rushing.

South Ottawa Mustangs secured a division title led by defensive performances by Christian Lavictoire and Nuhu Yakabu.

BANTAM (Under 17)

Tyrell Haye, Nick Ieradi and Mathew James had TD’s for the Raiders. Patrick “CJ” Fagan, Lucas Cochrane, Mack Wilson and Peter Hunter had big plays for the defense, but Giants win.
Jeff Marcus (121 yards rushing, 3 TD’s), and John Ladurantaye (108 yards rushing, 1 TD) helped Kanata blank Orleans. Over $300 and 100 lbs of food was raised by the Knights teams for Kanata Food Cupboard!

Redskins’ Mike Arruda and Jordan Finn put up 36 points, Jordan Doucette had 2 interceptions while Ethan Goulet and Simon Ghosh had one each vs. West Carleton.
