NCAFA: Over 400 players congregate for ‘Mosquito Madness’

There will be a BUZZ of activity at the Hillcrest High School football field on Saturday, August 13th from 12 noon to 6 pm! Over four hundred football players between the ages of 11 and 12 (Mosquito level) belonging to teams across the Ottawa region will meet on the field for a series of organized mini-games. Hosting the event this year will be the original hosting football club that cemented the concept 6 years ago.

The South Ottawa Mustangs football club created this opportunity for Mosquito players to give them a chance to try out their football skills prior to game season (which runs from September to November). Each team will participate in 4 mini-games and individual players can showcase their talents in the Punt-Pass- Kick competition.

β€œThe Mustangs have been a proud part of the South Ottawa sports scene for over 40 years. We are very excited to showcase the National Capital Region’s football talent with this event. It is a chance for all the clubs in the area to come and celebrate the sport we all love.”, stated Kris Kelly, President of the Mustangs.

The event is in part sponsored by NCAFA (the National Capital Amateur Football Association) who since 1955 has seen its membership grow to over 5,000 members – the largest amateur tackle football association in Canada.

The South Ottawa Mustangs look forward to hosting this event which will include a parade of the players around the field led by the β€œMustang” mascot, a western-style BBQ and canteen, dunk tank 50/50 tickets and raffle draws. Come and catch the excitement of the BUZZ!
