Nigerian born defensive end joins CWUAA team.
Samuel Kuyebi wanted a competitive environment.
Consequently, the 6β3, 240 pound defensive end has committed to the University of Manitoba Bisons for the 2014 CWUAA season.
βEveryone that I have met in the program is striving to make the team as strong as possible,β explained Kuyebi of his commitment.Β βMy positional coaches Barbour and Glover are both really meticulous and knowledgeable when it comes to coaching and perfectingΒ defensive linemen as evident by the rate ofΒ successΒ that many Bison alumni have had transitioning to pro carriers in the CFL and NFL.β
βI also chose Manitoba because of the state of the art facilities and because I consider Winnipeg my home as I have many family and friends here.Β I also have a great training facility in Winnipeg as I train at McDoles gym owned by Chris McDole and Dave Beakley which specializes in football and sports specific exercises.β
Kuyebi, who was born in Nigeria, has previously suited up for the St.Albert Skyhawks and Fort Garry Lions.Β Recently, the defensive end played for the North Winnipeg Nomads.Β Last season, Kuyebi recorded eight sacks, had two fumble recoveries and three pass breakups. For his efforts on the field, the defensive standout was selected as a Major All-Star and named Most Improved Nomad.
