New Brunswick recruit opts for “first choice” McGill (VIDEO)

Port Elgin defensive end/linebacker joins RSEQ team’s 2016 class.

In his mind, there was no doubt where Jake Reade Futter wanted to commence his CIS career.

Recently, the 6’0, 215 pound defensive end/linebacker from Port Elgin, New Brunswick committed to the McGill Redmen.Β  Reade Futter will join the team for the 2016 RSEQ season.

β€œMcGill was my first choice because it is one of the best universities in Canada and also has one of the best football programs,” expressed Reade Futter of his commitment.Β  β€œIt had what I was looking for in a university.”

This past season, the defensive standout helped the Tantramar Titans win the New Brunswick High School Football League 12-Man Championship.Β  Moreover, Reade Futter led the Titans in sacks and was named as the NBHSFL Defensive Lineman of the Year as well as selected as a League All-Star.

Reade Futter has previously represented his home province as a member of Team New Brunswick at 2015 Football Canada Cup in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec.
