Newest Marauder

Mississauga defensive lineman signs with OUA team.

Blake Armstrong felt right at home when he took in his official visit with the McMaster Marauders.

As a result, the 6’3, 255 pound defensive lineman from Mississauga, Ontario has signed with the Marauders for the 2014 OUA season.

Not only was the home feeling ideal, but academics also were a significant factor of why he chose the Hamilton, Ontario campus.

“I felt at home with the beautiful campus the inviting coaching staff and the welcoming student athletes,” expressed Armstrong.  “I was definitely comfortable while I was there.”

“I plan on studying economics and they have a very strong Business and Social Sciences Department so it just made sense.”

The defensive lineman recently completed his high school career with the Meadowvale Falcons of the Region of Peel Secondary Schools Athletic Association (ROPSSAA).

“I attended Meadowvale Secondary School which isn’t exactly known for football success,” added Armstrong.  “That is not due to lack of coaching staff from the best coaches I have experienced  – Coach Lee Becker and Coach Mike Fugler who helped me get to this level.”

In addition to the Falcons, Armstrong also suited up for the Mississauga Warriors of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL).
