NFC opens with Ottawa, Toronto and Soo victories


In their inaugural game of their inaugural season in the Northern Football Conference the Ottawa Invaders sent a message early by beating 14 time champions Oakville Longhorns. Led by QB V.P. Bainomugisha who was 12 for 24 for 244 yards and 3 TD’s the Invaders won decisively 27-0. Backup QB Jonah Paritzky threw his only pass of the game for a touchdown to Kyle Kavanaugh, his second of the night. Other TD’s were scored by Brandon Weekes and Joe Alidu (who scored the first ever touchdown by an Invader).

Defensively the Invaders put on a strong showing and managed 3 interceptions, two by Josh Hamilton and one by Erik Faucon. The Longhorns also gave up a safety.
The Invaders next game is on the road where they will play the North Bay Bulldogs.
