NFC: Outlaws hand Steelers first home playoff loss in five years

History has been made in the N.F.C. semi finals as neither the first or second place team will be in the final for the first time in League history. The 3rd and 4th seeded road teams turned the trick as the Tri City Outlaws handed the Sault Ste. Marie Steelers their first home playoff loss since 2006 to reach the final for the fifth consecutive year.

The Steelers defence held Tri City to just 132 yards rushing on Saturday night. But big passing plays allowed the Outlaws to continue key drives in second half and eat up the clock with a methodical ground game.

Steeler running back Josh Gauthier was kept in check most of the night. Although he rushed for 179 yards on 26 carries, most of his runs were for short gains. He racked up 109 yards on just three carries.
