North Delta and Burnaby win week 4 of the BCFC Tier 2 league games

This week North Delta Longhorns battled against Richmond Raiders in game 1 and Burnaby Lions faced Vancouver Trojans in game 2 at John Oliver Park in N.D. of the BCFC Tier 2 League games.

In game 1 North Delta defeated Richmond by a score of 55 to 14. However, despite the unfortunate end result for Richmond head coach Scott Robertson said, “It was a tough week for Richmond, but wow did we have some great plays from Ben Joe Wesley (Offensive line) not giving up a sack.” Coach Robertson also praised Gary (wide receiver) for having “a huge game, 2 touchdowns and 100+ yards.” Not leaving out that “Hunter passed for 2 touchdowns.” He looks “for big things next week with the addition of the SD guys.”

In game 2 Burnaby Lions once again defeated Vancouver Trojans by a score of 36 to 0. The result left President Michael Carney taken with the team’s achievement as he proudly said “Burnaby Lions got back on the winning track.” He said “returning players: Mikey Carney, Linemen Mike Higham, Marcus Woods and Wyatt Derocher helped put the wheels back on the cart.” This goes to show that great teamwork is what this is all about as Mikey “Carney passed for 150 yards to his top receiver of the day Michael Spencer. Carney was 13 for 20 and Spencer had 115 yards receiving with one 75 yard touchdown strike from Carney. Spencer ended the day with 3 touchdowns and Carney added to one offensive touchdown on a 40 yard QB.” Carney and Spencer both had interceptions with Carney going back for the 107 yards.

Nevertheless, Josh Furrer “opened the game with a 30 yard (field goal) and added 3 converts” on his own. On the defense Carney salutes Hayden Malz who “stormed back from injury with an outstanding game with QB sacks, four solo tackles and six assisted tackles.” While Jon Dododza also added a sack and four assists.

Once again the teams will head against each other on Sunday May 6th – week 5 of the BCFC Tier 2 League games.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
