Six Nova Scotia recruits commit to AUS team’s 2014 class.
The St. Francis Xavier (St.FX) X-Men have recently announced the addition to six Nova Scotia recruits to the teamโs 2014 class.
Patrick Logan, Sean Muir, Kyle MacIsaac, David Dean, Darian Oliver-Beals and Connor MacNeil have all signed with the X-Men for the 2014 AUS season.
โWe really like the group we were able to sign out of Nova Scotia this year,โ commented X-Men Head Coach Gary Waterman.ย โWe recently landed two big offensive linemen in MacIsaac and Logan; a team Nova Scotia quarterback Sean Muir, two defensive backs and a defensive lineman/long snapper David Dean.โ
โThese are quality student athletes who all wanted to be at StFX, our campus and our program did much of the talking for us. These players like the direction our program is moving in. Overall our Maritime commits are a very strong group well represented from Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.”
X-Men Offensive Coordinator Steve Snyder is equally thrilled of the home province contingent that has committed to the X-Men and looks forward to adding to the football family in the future.
“We are very excited about this group,โ added Snyder.ย โThese guys have a great opportunity to develop in our program.โ
โOur coaching staff thinks very highly of the prospects that came out of Nova Scotia this year, we’re also looking forward to the 2015-16 class in the area.”
PATRICK LOGAN:
The 6โ6, 250 pound offensive tackle from Upper Tantallon, Nova Scotia guided the Sir John A MacDonald Flames of the Nova Scotia Student Athletic Federation Football League (NSSAFFL) to their first ever Provincial Tier 1 Championship title this past November.
In 2013, Logan was selected as a NSSAFFL Scotia Division First Team All-Star at an offensive line position.
The lineman also helped the Timberlea Renegades of the Nova Scotia Varsity Football League (NSVFL) to a championship title in July 2012.
“Patrick comes to us as a big need at the tackle spot,โ said X-Men Recruiting Coordinator and Defensive Back Coach Gord Gallimore. ย โHe’s been a perfect fit for us since the day we’ve met.”

Last summer, the pivot helped the Metro Mustangs win the inaugural Nova Scotia Indoor Spring League (NSISL) Midget Championship.
“Sean has StFX ties,โ added Gallimore.ย โHe’s smart and calm in the pocket which is a trait we loved about him at pivot.โ
โHe’s the type of student athlete that model the direction of the program.”
KYLE MACISAAC:
The 6โ4, 270 offensive tackle from Bedford, Nova Scotia led the Charles P Allen Cheetahs of the Nova Scotia Student Athletic Federation Football League (NSSAFFL) to the Provincial Tier 1 Championship Final this past November.

โKyle is big, strong, athletic, good student and a basketball guy,โ commented Gallimore.ย โHis StFX ties stem back to his family as his dad and sister are both X Alum’s.
โThere was no way we would allow Kyle to go elsewhere.”
DAVID DEAN:
The 6โ3, 220 pound defensive end from Halifax, Nova Scotia recently completed his high school career with the Citadel Phoenix of the Nova Scotia Student Athletic Federation Football League (NSSAFFL).
For his exceptional play this past season, Dean was selected as a NSSAFFL Nova Division First Team All-Star. In 2012, he helped the Phoenix win their historical fifth consecutive Provincial Tier 1 Championship.
โHe’s a high academic performer, high intensity and can play multiple positions as well as long snap,” assessed Gallimore.
DARIAN OLIVER-BEALS:
The 5โ10, 185 pound defensive back from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia guided the Prince Andrew Panthers of the Nova Scotia Student Athletic Federation Football League (NSSAFFL) to the Provincial Tier 2 Championship this past November.
