The Nova Scotia Varsity Football League (NSVFL) kicks off its 6th season this Friday evening with the Varsity division playing a Jamboree tournament at Saint Mary’s University (7:30pm). The Junior Varsity division has its Jamboree on Sunday (1:30pm). The Junior Varsity division is thriving adding 2 new teams for this years season. Both division’s seasons conclude the end of June with their respective championship games.
The Varsity division started competition in 2006 and the Junior Varsity division was added in 2008. The Halifax Seahawks won the inaugural Varsity championship and the Metro Mustangs won the first ever Junior Varsity Championship. Two new teams added to the JV division this season are the Halifax Redhawks and Sydney Island Drillers.
