McMaster University Athletics is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Marauder assistant linebackers coach Nathan Galoni after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Joining the Marauder football staff in 2019, Galoni helped guide the team to a Yates Cup championship during his one season in maroon.

“Coach Galoni looked out for and cared about so many football student-athletes and their families throughout the Golden Horseshoe area” says Stefan Ptaszek, head football coach.

A graduate of the University of Ottawa, Galoni chose a career in education while making a name for himself in the football community. With a resume that included coaching experience with the University of Guelph, Burlington Stampeders, and for Team Canada at the International Bowl in Texas, he also led the Notre Dame CSS Irish and Corpus Christi CSS Longhorns as the head coach for both high schools producing several championship-caliber teams.

Nathan made a considerable impact on the Marauder football program and will be dearly missed.

“His style was to add value in the quiet corners of your football program. The Marauders were extremely fortunate to work with him and he will be missed.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
