OFC: Varsity Cougars move to 3rd place and secure a playoff spot


The Chatham-Kent Cougars varsity team secured a playoff spot and a third place standing after defeating the London Forest City Thunderbirds 47 – 0 on the weekend.

Scoring for the Cougars were Blayne Bechard (rushing TD), and Josh Wright (return for TD).

Kyle Ross threw 4 touchdown passes to receivers Cody St. Pierre, Lee Purnell, Josh Woodman, and Kyle Demars. Dan Fox converted all six convert attempts.

Defensively for the Cougars Dylan White and Jake Langstaff each had 3 sacks, Jeremiah Hamilton had 7 tackles and 1 sack, Benden Thompson and Graham Smyth had 6 tackles each.

The Cougar Varsity team play the KW Twin City Predators on Sunday July 17th in the Cougar Alumni Classic.
