2015 OFSAA BOWL FESTIVAL SERIES DAY 2 GAME RECAPS:

CFC#13 HURON HEIGHTS WARRIORS (YRAA) 48, CFC#18 SUPERIOR HEIGHTS STEELHAWKS 0 (NOSSA):
Colin Grant completed three passes in five attempts, rushed for 154 yards as well as three rushing and two passing touchdowns as CFC#13 and York Region Athletic Association (YRAA) representative Huron Heights Warriors crushed CFC#18 and Superior Heights Steelhawks 48-0 in Tuesday’s Simcoe Bowl.
In the first quarter, Grant did all the scoring as he snuck into the end zone for a 1 yard quarterback sneak and added a two yard major.
The Warriors enjoyed a 21-0 lead at halftime lead as Grant connected with Mike Strumos for a 40 yard touchdown.
Grant continued to add points to the scoreboard in the third quarter as he dashed into the end zone for a seven yard score. Gregg Anderson and Skyler McMurty each tallied a major. Grant found Zach Needler for a 13 yard touchdown to round out the scoring.
Nick Sertage added six PAT’s in the victory while Aiden Mielczarek registered five tackles for the Warriors.
As for the Steelhawks, Michael Reid led the defence with 10 tackles.
This OFSAA win marks the Warriors third in five appearances.

Warriors 3rd win in 5 OFSAA Bowl appearances
CFC#9 CENTRAL CATHOLIC CRUSADERS (WOSSAA) 40, CFC#42 ST. PETER’S KNIGHTS (NCSSAA) 7:
Sebastian Vanin scored two touchdowns including a 43 yard interception return to power CFC#9 and Western Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association (WOSSAA) representative Central Catholic Crusaders to a 40-7 victory over CFC#42 and National Capital Secondary School Athletic Association (NCSSAA) representative St. Peter’s Knights to claim the Western Bowl.
After a scoreless first quarter, Neil Garrity got the Crusaders on the scoreboard in the second quarter with a 10 yard field goal. Soon after, Derek Aubin sprinted into the end zone for a 43 yard major and Luke Petropoulakis connected with Pearson Brown for a 51 yard touchdown reception.
By halftime, the Crusaders enjoyed 19-0 lead over the Knights.
With no scoring in the third quarter, Vanin scored the next two Crusaders touchdowns in the final frame. His first one came 11 seconds out of the fourth quarter as Petropoulakis found him for an 11 yard score. Over four minutes later, Vanin caught an interception and dashed down field for a 43 yard major.
The Knights finally got on the scoreboard as Josh Earle returned a kickoff for a 115 yard touchdown. Fernando De La Rosa rounded out the scoring with a six yard major for the Crusaders.
This is the third OFSAA Bowl victory for the Crusaders, who have previously won in both 2004 and 2005.

CFC#22 RESURRECTION PHOENIX 31 (SWOSSAA), CFC#43 ETOBICOKE RAMS (TDSSAA) 8:
Devon Hinsperger scored two touchdowns and rushed for 110 yards on eight carries as CFC#22 and Southwestern Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association representative Resurrection Phoenix dismantled CFC#43 and Toronto District Secondary School Athletic Association (TDSSAA) representative Etobicoke Rams 31-8 in the Metro Bowl.
After a scoreless first half, Tyler Malloch sprinted into the end zone for an 18 yard touchdown to put the Phoenix up 7-0 in the third quarter. Hinsperger strengthened the lead with an eight yard major.
The Rams got their lone points of the game within the first minute of the fourth quarter when Max Melville connected with Keegan Dicks for a 15 yard touchdown. Moreover, the Rams were successful on a two point conversion attempt to lessen the deficit 14-8.
However, the Phoenix would score 17 answered points to finish the game. After a Robel Berhane 28 yard field goal, Hinsperger tallied his second major of the game as he snuck into the end zone for a two yard touchdown. Then, Scott Lane added a 50 yard major for the Phoenix.
Justin Jelacic led the Phoenix defence with six tackles while Max Lysovyk had seven for the Rams.
Tuesday’s win was the second OFSAA victory for the Phoenix. Their previous win was back in 2008.
