Philippe Robitaille has come a long way in a fairly short period of time.

He did not begin playing until his first year of high school with the Pointe-Levy Consaires of RSEQ Division 1B. He wasΒ selected to participate in the 2013 RSEQ Juvenile Division 1B All-Star Game and won Offensive Lineman of the Year in the league in 2014. 2015 was his rookie season in CEGEP, where he suited up for the Levis-Lauzon Faucons. Robitaille came on strong and earned a CEGEP Division 1 All-Star nomination as a first-yearΒ offensive lineman

Robitaille also represented his country at the 2016 International Bowl and will be heading to Harbin, China in June to compete in the 2016 International Federation of American Football (IFAF) World Championship.

The big offensive lineman says that the latter half of last season is when it all began to come together.

“I played very well at the end of the season,” he said. “At the start of the season I had some difficulties adjusting to my new level, but by the end of the season I was playing very well and was named to the All-Star team.”

Robitaille credits his high school coach with having the biggest influence on his football career.

“My coach at Pointe-Levy, Carl Gourgues, has been the most influential person in my life,” he stated. “CarlΒ showed me almost every technique I know and always pushed me to be the best.”

Being that he is coming off his rookie campaign in CEGEP, the CIS recruitment process is still a couple years away for Robitaille, but he is already looking forward to it. The 330-pounder says that, when the time comes, he will narrow his choices down to about five schools and choose from those.

He says he trains anywhere from two to five times a week, and that his goal for next season is to “help my team win every game.”

Robitaille plans on studying communication when he moves on to University in two years time.
