Influence is everything and it is the simple happiness that keep this young man involved in the sport.
Brianβs history of football started with a bantam and midget football and then began his high school years with the Lindsay Thruber Raiders as an offensive linesman. He credits his head coach as one of the most influential people of his life.
“When I first started playing with the Raiders, I was nervous and didnβt feel like I was good enough but he saw something in me and kept pushing me to try harder and do better.”
Brian continues, by adding the Coach David Smith is the person that taught him to give it his all regardless of how it feels. Success is how you apply yourself something Brian has learned.
At this time Brian hasnβt considered any CIS schools as they donβt necessarily contain the courses he is looking at. As he knows the importance of graduating High School he also expresses a huge amount of interest in carpentry and would eventually like to get his Red Seal and move forward into that field.
But he first and foremost loves football and what he accomplishes on the field. This summer he has been given an amazing opportunity being invited to do a summer camps from a scout with Simon Fraser University. And even with this wonderful chance to go and enjoy his summer doing what he loves best, his family has faced some financial restrictions making it difficult for Brian to have a chance to go and tour other Universities although he would love to have the chance. However, with winning the Blair Murray award (also known as the Coachβs award) Brian was given a $700.00 cheque with the ability to put that money to use on football equipment that he needed. This award is handpicked by all the coaches for a player that can do better but could use some assistance.

Brian is dedicated to giving the best he can and even with training. As for right now during the off season he is in the weight room doing a regiment given to him by the coaching staff and as for future goals he would like to add more cardio as that is where he feels his weakness lies.
With doing this training he looks forward to the future he has in the game of football and makes him appreciate the season he had last year going to the championship game and with a not so stellar first half, but to come back and to eventually shut out another team in the third quarter.
Lastly this young humble man gives all of the credit of his life on and off the field to the important women in his life. His mother and Grandma; there is never any hesitation from either of these ladies to assist Brian with anything that he needs.
“They both support me in what I want to do, in school or sports, and I know if I need help, they would help me without question.β
As in most players on the field there is always someone in your corner and Brian knows that he can always rely on Mom and grandma, showing where the gratitude that he carries with him originates from.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
