ONT (Guelph D10 recap): Royals go undefeated, Gaels not far behind

In the second to last week of District 10 ball the Ross Royals rolled to an undefeated season while the GCVI Gaels remain unbeaten

Week four of the district 10 season featured only two match-ups as Bishop Mac traveled into John F Ross seeking their first win of the season, while the Gaels played host to the St. James Lions under the lights of Alumni Stadium.

Ross has been a tough place to play for opposing teams in recent years and when the 0-3 Celtics went to meet the 3-0 Royals it was no exception. The Royals controlled play winning 33-6. Receiver Octavian Radulescu hauled in a pair of scores on the day for the Royals.

Ross will finish the shortened regular season 4-0 and will have a bye week next week to prepare for the playoffs.  Due to the restructuring of the playoff format the 0-4 Celtics will live to play another day as all teams will make the playoff this year.

Under the Thursday night lights of Alumni field the GCVI Gaels continued their dominance, pounding the St James Lions 37-0. Jaber Husiny and Jonah Hopkins had a pair of touchdowns each in the blow out. The Gael’s shutout was their second in two weeks an the team now boasts an impressive +105 point differential on the year.

With the win the Gaels improve to 3-0 and have an opportunity to go undefeated on the year when they host the 0-3 Centennial Spartans next week.

In the final week of the regular season Bishop Ma will host St. James at 3pm on Thursday the 17th, Lourdes will host Orangeville at 3pm on Friday the 18th, and as mentioned the GCVI Gaels will close out the season against  the Centennial Spartans at 7pm under the lights on Friday the 18th.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
