ONT (TVRAA): Flames extinguish Spartans

Sinjon Cromblehome scored two touchdowns to lead St Thomas Aquinas Flames to a 43-27 victory over the Mother Teresa Spartans yesterday at TD Stadium in Thames Valley Regional Athletic Association (TVRAA) action.

Last season, the Flames won the TVRAA title in the same stadium.

The Flames capitalized on Spartans mistakes in the first half as their opposition turned over the ball many times and also took quite a few penalties in the game.

Quarterback Matt DeCicco connected with Matt McFarlane for a 10 yard major and then found Hunter Tilden for a 75 yard catch.  Then, Tilden ran it in for a 1 yard touchdown score.

Kicker Jonah Zlatinski was successful on two field goal attempts, five conversions and added two singles.

At halftime, the Flames enjoyed a 25-7 lead over the Spartans.

While the Spartans tried to mount a comeback late in the game, it was enough to overcome the huge deficit.

Austin Kimbark scored two of the Spartans touchdowns – a one yard score and connected with quarterback Craig Hinschberger for a nine yard major.  Hinschberger ran into the end zone for a 15 yard score while Cole Kussman tallied a 1 yard major.

Kicker Mark Devlin was successful on three conversion attempts.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
