ONT (WCSSAA): CFC # 39 Hawks making a statement early

CFC#39 Jacob Hespeler Hawks are making a statement early in the season.

The Hawks have begun their regular season in the Waterloo County Secondary Schools Athletic Association (WCSSAA) Division A dominating their competition 112-13.  On Thursday, the Hawks won their second straight game of the season by trouncing the St.Benedict Bears 54-13.

Carlton Smith had three majors to lead the Hawks.  Meanwhile Hawks quarterback and 2014 Guelph Gryphons commit James Roberts had two rushing touchdowns in the victory.

In other action, running back/kicker Mitch Kernick accumulated 24 points to lead the Elmira Lancers to upset Sir John A MacDonald Highlanders 30-22 in WCSSAA Division B.  Moreover, Marcus Joseph tallied two majors to lead the Ressurection Phoenix to a 35-30 clipping of Preston Panthers.

Both the Lancers and the Phoenix remain undefeated with a 2-0 record.
