Outstanding Offensive Player of the Week

Mike Chase – Quarterback – Hamilton Hurricanes

Mike captured the offensive award this week in the Hurricanes 18-17 loss to the St Leonard Cougars. The 6’1” 190 pounder connected with 5 different receivers on 19 of his 37 pass attempts for 305 yards. Two of those completions went for touchdowns. His longest pass and run was 68 yards.


Outstanding Defensive Player of the Week

Yann Jourdain – Defensiveback – St Leonard Cougars

Yann collects his second award of 2010 as the Cougars edged the Hamilton Hurricanes 18-17. The 5’11” 185 pounder was credited with 15 defensive points in 4 categories. He had 4 solo tackles, an assisted tackle, an interception as well as knocking down another pass to hold off the visiting Canes.


Outstanding Special Teams Player of the Week

Carmine Gentile – Kicker – London Beefeaters

Carmine is this week’s special teams honouree as he single handedly with his foot led the Beefs to a 21-10 road victory over the Ottawa Sooners. The rookie out of London Catholic Central connected on 6 of his 7 field goal attempts. His lone miss went for a 26 yard single for 19 of London’s 21 points. The six foot, 180 pounder punted 7 times for 164 yards and his 2 kick offs travelled a total of 69 yards.
