Ontario Football Conference “Players of the Week” – Week 9 (Dickson, Morris & Thompson)

Outstanding Offensive Player of the Week

Ashton Dickson – Runningback – Ottawa Sooners

Ashton earned the offensive honours this week with his record setting effort. His 37 carries set a new OFC single game record.

The old record of 35 carries was held by two former Sooners, Etienne Mouaga in 1993 and Darren Joseph in 1990. He would cover 218 yards as the Sooners defeated the Brampton Bears 22-15. His longest romp was 42 yards.

Outstanding Defensive Player of the Week

Drew Morris – Linebacker – Ottawa Sooners

Drew collected his second defensive award in the 22-15 victory over the Brampton Bears. His outstanding play earned him 28 defensive points. He was credited with 7 solo tackles, 8 assisted tackles, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a special teams tackle.

Outstanding Special Teams Player of the Week

Max Thompson – Returner – Burlington Braves

Max had only one return in the Braves 24-17 victory over the St Leonard Cougars. It was the difference in the game as he returned a Cougars kick off 84 yards for a touchdown.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
