Ontario Minor Championships T Litzen Bowl: COMFL teams perfect on the day

The T Litzen Bowl, invitational championship for Ontario Minor Football, was played this past Saturday in Georgetown. CFC was proud to give prizes to all the game MVPs. COMFL reps won all 3 games they entered, SOFAL reps were 2 and 2, and first year entries from NCAFA were winless on the day.


Atom Finals

The Twin Cities Warhawks (SOFAL) played the Burlington Stampeders (COMFL) in the atom game. Burlington led by the strong running of Nathan Langley defeated the Warhawks 24-12. Twin Cities was led by Adrian Turner as they tried to fight back.

The Game CFC MVP’s (with their sharp looking CFC hats in above picture) were Nathan Langley for the Stampeders and Adrian Turner for the Warhawks.


Peewee Finals


GAME 1

The peewee game pitted the undefeated champions of COMFL the Burlington Stampeders versus the undefeated champions of SOFAL the Brampton Bulldogs. This was the most anticipated meeting of the peewee season. Burlington was lead by the strong running of Dominic Mandalfino who scored 2 touchdowns but in the end the Bulldogs balanced attack led by Zack Blanch, Jevante Stanley & Jamaal Nkumrah whom all scored and the tenacious defence proved to much for the Stampeders. Brampton were victorious 36-12. Dominic Mandalfino and Zack Blanch were voted CFC players of the game.


GAME 2

In the second peewee game of the day Ottawa Myers Riders (NCAFA) met the Mississauga Warriors (SOFAL). The Warriors who lost the SOFAL final to the Bulldogs have been on a roll beating the Niagara Generals (COMFL) easily and continued behind Kevin Foster-Verdier & Kian Shaffer-Parker athletic performance with the help of Jamoy Thompson to win 64-0. The CFC most valuable players were Brian Franklin for the Riders and Jamoy Thompson for the Warriors.

Bantam


GAME 1

The first bantam game of the day had the Hamilton Junior Ticats champions of COMFL versus the Ottawa Myers Riders of NCAFA. Hamilton was led by Jacob Marquette at the helm of the high octane offence of the Ticats consistently prodded the tough Rider defence. In the end despite Myers efforts the Hamilton Jr Ticats won the game 20-6. The CFC players of the game were Jacob Marquette for Hamilton and Sean Edgecombe of the Myers Riders.


GAME 2

The second bantam game of the day was between the Kanata Knights of NCAFA and the Cambridge Wolverines of SOFAL. Cambridge was led by the running of Derek Cole who gave the Knights defence fits all game long. The Wolverine defence shut down the Knights all game long until the 4th quarter when the gallant Knights led by Keenen Tanti scored a td. The CFC players of the game were Derek Cole for the Wolverines and Keenan Tanti for the Kanata Knights.
