A terrible first half cost the Falcons the game and a chance at 2nd place in the standings as they fell to the Spartans 15-6. While the defense gave up a touchdown on the first play from scrimmage and the last play from scrimmage, it played effectively for most of the game and kept the chance to win alive.
Daniel Robertson played an effective game with 6 solo tackles, while Nicholas Corbett recovered 2 fumbles. Seasmus Money dominated on defense and special teams, recording 3 tackles on punt team. While the offense did not gain a first down in the first half, it came alive in the 2nd, moving the ball down the field on the back of Trevor Metcalf, who ran for over 100 yards in the half. However, costly turnovers and penalties ruined the chance at the comeback.
