Seventeen-year-old Nicholas Lewczuk began his career 10 years ago. Ā He has spent the bulk of his career with the Burlington Stampeders of the Ontario Football Conference (OFC).
Lewczhuk took two years off of football to play rugby with the Oakville Crusaders, where he was very successful and earned Defensive Player of the Year.
When the wide receiverās resumed his gridiron career, he helped his junior high school team, Notre Dame Fighting Irish of the Halton Secondary Schools Athletic Associationās (HSSAA) Ā win the District Championship in 2012.
In 2014, Lewczuk played for the Brampton Minor Football Associationās (BMFA) as well as the Ā OFC’s Burlington Braves where he was the youngest player on the roster and was a starter.
His Braves teammates nominated him for League Rookie of the Year.
During the offseason the Brave does weight training regularly, as well as plyometrics.
āMy goals for the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) are to raise my profile with university scouts,ā said Lewczuk. āI have intentions of attending university and hope to continue my football career.ā
The wide receiver also has being in the CFC 100 in his graduating year on his list of goals.
After all of Lewczukās time on the field he still knows that football is by far his favourite sport.
āI have always thought football was fun and I love the competition,ā explained the Braves standout.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
