Lako

Defensive standout Lawhya Lako is one of the latest players to sign up for the Ontario Prospect Challenge that will take place this fall. Lako has made a name for himself through the Ontario Varsity Football League and will now be taking on the Challenge along with the best football players in Ontario.

Lako just had one of his best season ever with the Essex Ravens where he tallied 50 tackles, and a team high nine sacks. Lako hopes to continue his success at the university level, but for now is focused on the OPC.

“I saw it (the OPC) as a great opportunity to show my skill and do what I do best…to play football,” says Lako. He continues, “I hope to make it to the top 100 and I know I am capable of doing that.”

This September Lako will be entering grade 11, which means he still has two years before he is eligible for university. Lako is exciting about his future prospects but for now he is focused on winning a championship for St. Joseph’s.

Tryouts (Phase 1) for the Ontario Prospect Challenge begin September 21st.  A ‘one-time’ tryout fee allows you to compete in as many tryouts as you wish.   CLICK HERE for registration information.
