Nicholas Casola’s journey started eight years ago, when he played two years of flag football prior to playing two years of house league in the Burlington Minor Football Association (BMFA).

Since then,  the wide receiver has played a total of four years with the Burlington Stampeders of the Ontario Football Conference (OFC).

During the offseason, he works out at DNA Fitness in Burlington as well as practices running routes and catching passes with teammates and friends whenever possible at local fields.

A returnee to the Ontario Prospect Challenge, Casola is hoping luck will be on his side once again at the event.

“My goals for the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) this year are to have the same success that we accomplished in last year’s win and also to improve as a player, as well as to learn as much as possible from the coaches,” said Casola.

Additionally, he has future ambitions beyond the OPC.

“Being in the CFC 100 list would definitely be a goal of mine,” added the Stampeders standout. “It would be an honour to make the list, and I believe that it would also help with post-secondary athletics.”

The wide receiver loves to play football for many reasons, one being the love of competition.

“There is no better feeling than doing it with a group of guys you consider your family,” continued Casola. “I also love the enjoyment that catching the ball and making plays brings, and I love looking forward to game day.”
