Jack Camplin Oct 2015

Jack Camplin’s introduction to football was in his first year of high school playing with the St. Max Mustangs, and he loved every minute of the game.

In grade nine, the receiver had the experience of taking part in the central Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC).

For this year’s OPC the Mustang is hoping to make the Top 100 and the team for 2016.

“I want the opportunity to learn and develop with the coaches for OPC and hope to get noticed by university scouts that attend the all star game,” said Jack.

During the offseason, he makes sure to eat a healthy diet, build strength, as well as build stamina at the gym.

“Since my first day of football I have been told that champions are made during the ‘off’ season,” added the Mustangs standout.

Before high school, Jack played every sport other than football. The variety of sports he played gave him the opportunity to learn and hone a wide range of skills, such as high level agility, hand-eye coordination, speed, strategy and team work.

“I find that football combines all of these skills which allow me to develop, grow and excel,” commented the receiver.

One goal he’d like to achieve in 2017 is the making the #CFC100 list.

“I want to make the list as I believe universities notice who is there and take this into account when they decide who they want to offer places to on their teams,” explained Jack.

The Mustangs standout does not have a professional player as his role model, but instead his high school coach, Joe Gaudio.

“Since the start of football in grade 9 he has seen potential in me and is always challenging me to achieve new goals and be the best that I can,” said Jack. “He has coached university, knows how to improve my game and teaches me to think strategically when playing.”

“Coach Gaudio treats his team like family not just players, that brings us all together in a united front.”
