Colin Grant started on the gridiron at the age of six playing as a safety, before making the switch to quarterback at the age of eight.

During his career, the quarterback has had the chance to play in playoff games and championships in community rep football, and he has also been successful as quarterback of his high school’s junior varsity team.

Last year with the Huron Heights Warriors of the York Region Athletic Association (YRAA), he went undefeated and won the City Championship. He also tied a 20-year-old league record for touchdowns with a total of 28.

During the offseason, he trains with Bob Rainford and works on his skills as a quarterback.

β€œThis past offseason, I was working out with former CFL player Cory Boyd and other CFL players,” added Grant. β€œI’ve attended camps in the US and Canada for additional coaching, and I try to follow the workout program developed by our coaches at Huron Heights.”

Aside from the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC), the Warriors standout hopes to find his name high up on the CFC 100 list in his graduating year to help get him exposure.

β€œMy goals for the OPC are to first help get the win for my squad, and second, to be able to get an opportunity to showcase my talent and ability to coaches at the next level,” explained the quarterback.

Grant cannot pinpoint a single reason as to why he loves football. The Warrior believes that it is in his blood and that he loves everything about it, no matter what the conditions are.

β€œIt’s the best team sport, and it helps me relieve stress,” continued the Warriors quarterback. β€œFootball has taught me focus that I am able to apply outside of the game, such as in school.”
