Garrett Bernard’s career started in the spring of 2013 in the Brockville Youth Football Association (BYFA) with the tyke Buccaneers as the offensive captain.

He also played for the BYFA Buccaneers in 2014 and this past spring.

In the fall of 2013, he joined the National Capital Football Association’s (NCAFA) Brockville Buccaneers, where he continued to play the following season.

This fall, the running back/tight end continues to play in the NCAFA, but with the mosquito Rideau RedBlacks as an offensive captain.

During the offseason he plays soccer, basketball, as well as track and field.

“My goals for the OPC (Ontario Prospect Challenge) is to improve my game,” said Garrett. “Have the opportunity to be coached by the leading coaches, play with other top football players as well as get my name out there.”

In the future, Garrett hopes to eventually find himself obtaining a football scholarship.

The RedBlack loves playing football because when he is on the field he feels confident and unstoppable.

“My football team is like a second family for me,” added Garrett.
