Ontario recruit signs with Bishop’s

Stittsville wide receiver joins RSEQ team’s 2015 class.

Kiell Barrie is moving provinces to begin his CIS career.

Recently, the 5ā€™11, 190 pound wide receiver from Stittsville, Ontario signed with Bishopā€™s Gaiters.Ā  Barrie will join the team for the 2015 RSEQ season.

ā€œI wanted to go to Bishopā€™s mainly because of the small school atmosphere and I’ve heard many good things about their business program,ā€ explained Barrie of his decision.Ā  ā€œFor the football team, Iā€™ve heard they like to pass so of course being a receiver that appealed to me.ā€

Among the teams Barrie has suited up for during his gridiron career include Ottawa Myers Riders of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) and Bel-Air Norsemen of the National Capital Amateur Football Association (NCAFA).

This past season with the Norsemen, the receiver racked up 550 yards on 28 receptions.Ā  Moreover, Barrie was selected as a NCAFA All-Star in 2014.
