Eric “Junior” Schon has been playing football for five years after getting his start with the house league Huronia Stallions. He then went on to play peewee for the Vaughn Rebels in the Ontario Football Conference (OFC), and they won the Peewee Championship in 2013. After three seasons with the Rebels, Eric made the switch to the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) to play with the bantam Metro Toronto Wildcats for thee seasons. More recently, he returned to the Stallions and played bantam with them in the OFC.

This past summer brought Eric to the junior varsity Stallions after the bantams got eliminated from the playoffs. He played in the conference and championship finals with the junior varsity team.

Currently, he is playing in the Catholic School Athletics of Simcoe County (CSASC) with the St. Joan of Arc Knights, and plays with the Stallions in the spring/summer season.

While on the field Eric is capable of playing several positions, such as defensive tackle, defensive end, right guard, left guard, long snapper and tight end.

The Stallion will also be participating in their year’s Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC).

“My goals for the OPC are to make the team and hopefully be a starter (or) captain,” said Eric.

During the offseason he does very intense workouts, as well as football training camps in Toronto and at the University of Notre Dame in the States.

Moreover, in football Eric’s role model is Ray Lewis because of the intensity he brings to the game, as well as his work ethic and passion.

“I love to play football because it is my passion, it is stress free and I also love the hitting,” commented Eric.
