Tyler Holmes has signed a contract with the Minnesota Vikings. Holmes was the Toronto Argonauts’ first round selection (7th overall) in the 2011 CFL Draft.
The 6’5″, 308 lb Ottawa native played his high school football at Merivale and was a member of the 2004 Team Ontario East U17 team that won the first ever Under 17 competition at the Football Canada Cup.
Holmes played college football at Tulsa and was named a Conference USA honourable mention performer for the Golden Hurricane last season. In 2010, he was named conference offensive player of the year.
His father Richard played for Ottawa, Toronto and Winnipeg in the Canadian Football League, and also played in the USFL.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
