OUA Players of the Week 2: Kennedy, Chmielewski, Odum

The following student-athletes have been named OUA Football Players of the Week for the period ending September 11, 2011.

OFFENCE: Austin Kennedy, Windsor Lancers, Quarterback
Lancer quarterback Austin Kennedy was electric and virtually unstoppable, finishing 25 of 37 passing for 443 yards and 5 touchdowns in the Lancers 41-40 upset over the No. 8 ranked Laurier Golden Hawks on Saturday night in Waterloo. The second year Business major also added 112 rushing yards in the victory.

DEFENCE: Ryan Chmielewski, McMaster Marauders, Linebacker
Ryan Chmielewski (St. Catharines, Ont.) earned a double digit number in tackles against the Western Mustangs on Saturday. The linebacker totalled 13 tackles and one sack in the losing effort.

SPECIAL TEAMS: Felix Odum, Laurier Golden Hawks, Receiver
Kick returner Felix Odum (Pickering, Ont.) put in a career-best performance for the No. 8 Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks in their 41-40 loss to Windsor. With the Lancers kicking away from OUA All-Star returner Dillon Heap, Odum took advantage and returned three kicks for 151 yards, including a 92 yard touchdown. The 92 yard return was the fifth longest in team history and the first special teams touchdown of his career.
