
OUA Football Players of the Week for the period ending September 11, 2011.
OFFENCE: Aaron Colbon, Ottawa Gee-Gees, Quarterback
The Gee-Gees fourth-year quarterback had two touchdowns while throwing for a total of 298 yards and rushing for another 46 yards as the garnet and grey crushed Guelph 35-8 in their OUA football regular season opener. This was Colbonβs first career CIS game as the starting pivot, and was efficient in completing 23-32 passes.
DEFENCE: Ben D’Aguilar, McMaster Marauders, Line backer
Ben D’Aguilar picked off a Queenβs Gaelsβ screen pass and ran 57 yards for the first Marauder touchdown of the 2011 season just nine minutes into the game. The major was the first in a Marauder uniform for the second-year linebacker from Hamilton, Ont. DβAguilar also registered a sack in the 26-2 McMaster victory.
SPECIAL TEAMS: Tyler Crapigna, McMaster Marauders, Kicker
Tyler Crapigna (Nepean, Ont.) earned 14 of McMasterβs 26 points in the Marauder’s win over the Queen’s Gaels in the opening game of the 2011 football season. The second-year kicker converted four field goals and two extra points for a total of 14 in his return from a season ending injury in 2010. He also had some key direction punts finishing with a total of 8 punts for 240 yards.
