OVFL: Lions host conference finals in JV & Bantam after convincing victories

Junior Varsity

The West Division winning Jr. Varsity Cambridge Lions rolled to a 35-0 win over The Essex Ravens in OVFL playoff action last weekend.

Austin Gordon hit Brad Vince and Simon Beeksma for touchdown passes to lead the Lions. Gordon also carried the ball across the line for a rushing touchdown. Tyler Wismer and Travis Simpson also carried the ball for TDs.

On the defense, Adam Yemen returned an interception 34 yards for a touchdown and had a fumble recovery.

The Lions play the Mississauga Warriors Friday Night at 8:00 in the Adams Conference Final.

Bantam

In Bantam Action, The West Division champs Cambridge Lions defeated Essex 21-7.

Brayden Hill passed to Kaden Jespersen for a major, while Derek Cole rushed for two touchdowns.

Nathan McLean converted all three touchdowns.

The Bantam Lions play the Brampton Bulldogs in the Adams Conference Final Saturday night at 8:00.

Both games are at Jacob Hespeler Field. Adults are $5, Students and Seniors $2. The game is free to fans under 13 and any Cambridge players wearing their Lions Jersey.
