OVFL SEMI FINALS

VARSITY

Hamilton @ Sault Ste Marie
This is a week 8 rematch when Hamilton traveled to the Soo and lost by a single point 8 to 7. We will call the familiarity of the match up even since the rematch finds the ironmen traveling again. If the ironmen can limit Trevor Lumley (893 rushing yards, 14 TDs) they will win. Flip a coin on this one.

Hamilton 17 Sault Ste Marie 16

Essex @ Mississauga

A rematch of week 9 when the warriors squeaked out a 29 to 27 victory at essex. This one will be a track meet with the likes of warriors Javion Elson (657 yards rushing, 8 TDs) and receivers Damone Williams (511 yards, 4 TDs) and Chris Karagitsis (342 yards, 1 TD). Essex responds with Terrance Crawford (1001 rushing yards, 16 TDs) and receivers Dylan Whitfield and Thaddeus Stewart (7 TDs total). Whoever plays better on defense will win the day. Both defensive coordinators will have their teams ready. Who will make plays?

Mississauga 24 Essex 22

Etobicoke @ Toronto Thunder

Another great match up with these cross town rivals renewing acquaintances. Toronto won in week 3 by a score of 21 to 14, keeping the explosive eagle offense in check. The thunder again are at home, and again it is their defense that will have to come up big. Both teams coaches will have them prepared. If these thunder players have a good game they will win – Scott Shallow, Hazime Hussein, Yann Dika, & Travis Bent. If these eagle players have a good game they will win – Jesse Herman, Melvin Abankwah, Kevin Bradfield, & Aaron Jermiah.

Thunder 26 Eagles 23

Cumberland @ MTW

This is the only match up that the teams did not play in the regular season. Who has the edge? Cumberland stars include QB Alex Skinner, RB Ashton Dickson, FB Dimitri Dalekos, DL Alexis Patenaude, LB Ronald Omara, & DB Dustin Wilson. The wildcats lead the way with QB Simon Nassar, REC Justin Babin, DB Gabriel Crozier, & DB Eric Richards. The panthers have a more balanced attack so this game will come down to how cumberland defends the pass. Defend the pass and win. But the wildcats seem to be finding ways to win this year.

Cumberland 24 Wildcats 21

Junior Varsity and Peewee predictions to follow shortly.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
