Peacock Tornado OL now part of Regina Ram herd

Regina brings in local commit to their Class of 2017.

Maguire Abell, an offensive lineman from Albert E. Peacock Colligate, will be staying on the prairies after committing to the University of Regina Rams.

Hailing from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Abell was drawn to Regina for a few reasons. β€œThe great academic and athletic programs were the biggest factor, the coaching staff and the fact that it isn’t that far from home is good too,” the future business student said.

Behind every team is a set of coaches that pour their heart and soul into their sport. It’s no different for the Regina Rams. β€œThe coaching staff is very good, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the game of football,” Abell said. β€œI’m very excited to get the opportunity to play under them for the upcoming seasons.”

Standing at 6’0, 275lbs, he played for the Albert E. Peacock Tornadoes (Moose Jaw High School Football League) primarily as a centre or guard. In his nine-year career, he has suited up for Team Saskatchewan at the Football Canada Cup twice where he won a bronze and a silver medal. He has won four MJHSFL championships. This year, his team fell short of capturing the provincial championships.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
