Pennsylvania recruit extends family tradition at Mount Allison (VIDEO)

Bethlehem offensive lineman joins AUS team’s 2016 class.

Rowan Hickey has continued a family pipeline to one CIS school.

Recently, the 6’5, 240 pound offensive lineman from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania committed to Mount Allison Mounties.  Hickey will join the team for the 2016 AUS season.

With his commitment, Hickey will be the third sibling to join the Mounties.  His older brothers Seamus and Liam are also part of the Sackville, New Brunswick team.

Overall, there were a few key reasons why Hickey opted to come north of the border.

“The reasons I committed were the outstanding academics and both of my brothers are involved in the program; my oldest brother is currently defensive line and my older brother will be a junior offensive lineman there next year,” explained Hickey of his decision. “Through my family we knew former Head Coach [Kelly] Jeffrey and I am very excited to be playing for Coach [Scott] Brady.”

Hickey joins the Mounties after finishing out his career with Pennsylvania’s Bethlehem Catholic Golden Hawks.
