OFFENSE- JAY SMITH, Regina Thunder

The veteran receiver and Queen City product is part of a group that is arguably the best in the PFC at this point in the season. In Regina’s 48-23 win over Saskatoon, he showed one more time why this group is feared. Smith would have 9 catches for 132 yards in the win, 3 of those were major scores of 25, 5 and 15 yards. Smith currently sits 2nd in the conference in receiving with 22 catches for 293 yards and 5 touchdowns.

DEFENSE-TRAVIS JUNIOR, Regina Thunder

Junior and his defensive mates would get in on the scoring in Regina’s 48-23 romp over Saskatoon on Saturday evening at Mosaic Stadium. He would intercept a Chase Bradshaw pass in the 4th quarter, going 15 yards. He would spot DB Joey Todd and lateral the ball to him. Todd would take it the final 30 yards to put the capper on a huge win.Junior would have a terrific night, getting the interception along with 3 tackles, 6 assists and 1 special teams tackle for an 18 point game.

SPECIAL TEAMS- DOUG LONG, Calgary Colts

The 2nd-year product of Calgary’s Bowness High School had a busy day in Sunday’s 40-30 home opening win against the PFC champion Edmonton Wildcats. He would return 10 Wildcat punts for 116 yards, one of those being a 68-yard first quarter touchdown to give the Colts a 10-point lead.Long would also return a pair of kickoffs for a total of 31 yards
