OFFENSE- RYAN MARSCH-Winnipeg Rifles
For the third time in the 2011, the 3rd-year Rifles pivot lays claim to the Offensive Player of the Week award with another sensational performance in Sundayβs 35-35 tie in Calgary. Marsch would complete 31 of 49 passes for 393 yards and throw for 4 major scores. The 393-yard day gave him a season total of 3,030 yards which is a new CJFL single season passing yards record. While the 4 touchdown tosses ties the PFC single-season record for touchdown passes with 31.
DEFENSE-SKYLAR PINCHAK-Calgary Colts
The 4th-year defensive back from Cardston, Alberta had a phenomenal regular season finale in Sundayβs 35-35 tie with the Winnipeg Rifles. Pinchak had 5 tackles, 3 assisted stops, a special teams tackle, a special teams assist, 1 pass knockdown and a fumble recovery. However, his biggest play of the day was a clutch interception on the gameβs final play as he picked off a Ryan Marsch pass at the Colts 18. That would thwart a potential Winnipeg game-winning drive. The 24 point afternoon gave Pinchak 88 defensive points, which places him 5th in the conference.
SPECIAL TEAMS-TYLOR HENRY-Edmonton Wildcats
Henry would have a busy afternoon in Sundayβs 53-37 home loss to the Regina Thunder as he returned 3 kickoffs for 118 yards; one of those was a season-best 64-yard run back. He added 6 punt returns for 73 yards with his longest return going for 20 yards.
Tylor finishes the PFC season 3rd in kickoff returns with 13 for 324, averaging 24.9 yards/return and 6th in punt returns with 18 for 140 yards.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
