Carabins welcome local commit to their Class of 2017.
Samuel Chénier, a fullback from Collège André-Grasset, will be staying in a city he knows quite well after signing with the University of Montréal Carabins.
ChΓ©nier has quite a lot going for him already at the University of MontrΓ©al. For starters, itβs one of his hometown teams seeing as he hails from MontrΓ©al, QuΓ©bec. The Carabins roster is also a hotspot for Les PhΓ©nix du CollΓ¨ge AndrΓ©-Grasset (RSEQ Division 1). βItβs a great organization and a successful program. Also, I know some guys on the team who played for AndrΓ©-Grasset too and I want to play with them again,β ChΓ©nier said.

The 5β9, 225lbs athlete isnβt only in it for the thrill of lining up with former teammates. The Carabins coaching staff is also a hallmark of the team. βI think MontrΓ©al has the best coaching staff, so it will help me to get better everyday as a player and as a person,β ChΓ©nier said, adding that he will start in arts and sciences and then transfer into internal security.
To grow and develop both on and off the field, isnβt that just a wonderful effect of university sports?
