Since grade 10, Tommy has played for the Citadel Phoenix of the Nova Scotia Student Athletic Federation Football League (NSSAFFL).

In his rookie season, the Phoenix won their historical fifth consecutive NSSAFFL Provincial Tier 1 Championship.

Last season, the Nova Scotia defensive lineman experienced a special gridiron moment.

“The most memorable part of this past season, I would say was starting in my first game against CEC (Cobequid Educational Cougars), recalls Tommy.

To achieve gridiron success, the Phoenix lineman undergoes a rigorous training regimen.

“I train five to six times a week and normally twice a day, I do hill sprints for like an hour,” describes Tommy.  “Then normally an hour and a half gym workout with my trainer, a couple of other football players and some hockey players.”

Moreover, the Phoenix standout has a few individuals who have been main sources of support and inspiration on and off the field.

“The most influential people in my life are my parents and the most influential people in football to me are my coaches,” expresses Tommy.  “They push me every day to be better.”

As for future plans, Tommy would like to have a career in either the business or law sectors.

Presently, the Nova Scotia lineman has not committed to a school.  However, the recruitment process is fairly new to him.

“The recruiting process has only just really started with me because I think I only came on everyone’s radar this summer,” explains Tommy.  “It’s been really cool as I’ve just been talking to scouts and coaches over social media.”

Overall, the Phoenix standout credits the game for teaching him two things which he has been able to apply into all aspects of his life.

“One of the things that I’ve taken away from football is definitely preparation before a big event and it has also taught me to be disciplined,” says Tommy.
