CEGEP linebacker becomes fifth CFC TOP 100 player to join RSEQ team’s 2014 class

Already bolstered with a strong recruiting class for the 2014 RSEQ season, the Montreal Carabins have grabbed another CFC TOP 100 standout.

Jean-Gabriel Poulin recently committed to the Carabins.Β  The 6’2, 225 pound linebacker from St. Nicolas, Quebec felt that this year’s recruiting class was so strong that he wanted to play alongside fellow recruits and players currently on the roster.

Moreover, he wants to help the Carabins bring back the Vanier Cup to Montreal as well further his studies at a reputable institution.

β€œThe main reason why I chose Montreal is because I wanted to be a part of this great football program,” explained Poulin of his decision.Β  β€œI sat down with the coaches and they told me they feel I could contribute early and help the team win a Vanier Cup, because that’s the main goal.”

β€œI am joining one of the best defenses in the country with a great linebacker group where I will learn a lot.Β  Also, the recruiting class of Montreal this year is amazing, the coaches are doing a great job getting the top recruits in Quebec and I want to be part of this class.Β  Academically, is the best option for me, I want to study Business Administration and the HEC is a great school.Β  All of this combined is why I chose Montreal.”

He previously suited up for his high school team, Seminaire Saint Francois Blizzard of RSEQ Juvenile Division 1.

The Quebec standout is the fifth CFC TOP 100 player to commit to the Carabins as he joins receiver Regis Cibasu, running back GabrielΒ  Parent as well as offensive linemen Gregoire Bouchard and Maxime Laliberte.
