PFC WEEK 1
Quarterback – #13 Jaeden Marwick β Regina Thunder
In his first PFC game since coming the BCFC, quarterback Jaeden Marwick of the Regina Thunder looked like he fit right in.Β Against a very talent Hilltops defense, Marwick completed 29 of 42 passes for 363 yards and two touchdowns.Β He also ran twice for seven yards.
BCFC WEEK 4
Quarterback – #9 Dylan Tucker β Langley Rams
To say Langley Rams quarterback Dylan Tucker had a perfect game in Week 4 would be the most accurate statement of the past week.Β The βBC Lions Offensive Player of the Weekβ finished the contest in Westshore 10 of 10 for 352 yards, threw five touchdown passes and ran one in as well.Β Heβs the first quarterback this season to win the award.
PFC Week 1:
Linebacker – #45 Justin Filteau βSaskatoon Hilltops
Picking up where he left off in 2013, Hilltops linebacker Justin Filteau had a solid game against the defending champs.Β He gathered four tackles, assisted on four other stops and collected the lone turnover in the game, an interception which he returned four yards.
BCFC Week 4:
Defensive Back – #22 Derek Trager β Kamloops Broncos
One of the main reasons the Kamloops Broncos are 3-0 for the first time in franchise history is the work of their defense.Β They have allowed the least amount of points in the Conference, thanks to performances like the βBC Lions Defensive Player of the Weekβ Derek Trager turned in during Week 4.Β The defensive back made three solo tackles, assisted on one, had a sack and forced two fumbles.Β Heβs the first Bronco to win this award this season.
PFC Week 1:
Kicker – #26 Jonathan Heidebrecht β Edmonton Huskies
In Week 1, the Edmonton Huskies scored 25 points and beat the Winnipeg Rifles.Β 19 of those 25 points came from the foot of Huskies kicker Jonathan Heidebrecht.Β The veteran was a perfect 6-6 in field goal attempts and he hit his only convert attempt.Β After a Huskies major in the first quarter, Heidebrecht scored the next 19 consecutive points on route to the victory.
Returner – #4 John Beckerleg β Langley Rams
Simply, WOW!Β The performance turned in by the βBC Lions Special Teams Player of the Weekβ John Beckerleg was speechless.Β The first year Langley Ram returned three kicks for touchdowns in Westshore.Β He ran back two kick-offs a total of 187 yards, including returns of 99 and 88 yards for majors, plus a punt return 60 yards for a score.Β In total Beckerleg returned four punts totalling 115 yards.Β Its the second time inΒ four games Beckerleg has won this award.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
