CJFL Offensive POWPFC WEEK 6:

Running Back – #29 David Adebayo – Edmonton Wildcats

In the battle for the city of Edmonton and bragging rights the Wildcats crushed the Huskies 51-18.Β  The Cats’ run game was simply dominating as the Offensive Player of the Week, running back David Adebayo scampered for 155 yards on 23 carries and scored three touchdowns.Β  The Wildcats (3-2) face the Huskies (1-4) again this week Saturday night at 7:00pm.

BCFC WEEK 9:

Running Back – #32 Nathan Lund – Langley Rams

Week 9 was an impressive one for the Langley Rams, winning their sixth game of the season scoring 53 points against their rivals, the VI Raiders.Β  Lund carried 11 times for 55 yards and score a pair of touchdowns as well caught two balls for 73 yards and scored a major.Β  He had 128 all-purpose yards and three TDs.Β  Lund becomes the third Ram to be honoured with the β€œBC Lions Offensive Player of the Week.”  (Week 4 – Dylan Tucker, Week 6 – Mario Narte)

PFC WEEK 6:

Linebacker – #44 Taylor Garrett – Regina Thunder

The defending champs flexed their muscle in a battle for first place last week in Winnipeg as the Regina Thunder won their fourth game of the year.Β  The defense played great led by the Defensive Player of the Week, linebacker Taylor Garrett who collected three solo tackles, the lone sack, an interception and two knockdowns.Β  The Thunder (4-1) will host the Calgary Colts (1-4) on Sunday afternoon at 1:00pm.

BCFC WEEK 9:

Linebacker – #34 Marcus Brown – Langley Rams

The Langley Rams defense was impressive over the weekend, holding the Raiders to just 33 yards on the ground.Β Β  One of the main reasons for the Rams success was the play of the β€œBC Lions Defensive Player of the Week” linebacker Marcus Brown.Β  The 18 year old made three solo tackles, 1 assisted tackle, forced and recovered a fumble, had a knock down and intercepted a pass.Β Β  It’s the Winnipeg natives first award this year.

PFC WEEK 6:

Kicker #9 Brett Thorarinsson – Saskatoon Hilltops

The Special Teams Player of the Week is Saskatoon Hilltops kicker Brett Thorarinsson for the second straight week.Β  He pinned the Calgary Colts deep with nine punts averaging 47 yards and totaling 421 yards.Β  His eight kick offs averaged 48 yards for a total of 384 yards.Β  The PFC’s leading scorer also connected on a field goal from 43 yards away.Β  The Hilltops (3-2) will host the Winnipeg Rifles (3-2) on Sunday afternoon.

BCFC WEEK 9:

Returner – #15 Robbie Yochim – Okanagan Sun

It was a recording setting night for the β€œBC Lions Special Teams Player of the Week.”  Robbie Yochim of the Okanagan Sun returned three punts for touchdowns, setting a new Canadian Junior Football League record for most punt returns for touchdowns in a single game.Β  In all, Yochim returned seven punts for 248 yards.Β  One of his touchdowns was 87 yards.
