The 2010 football canada cup has displayed the talents of many young football players from coast to coast. The final day of competition is saturday and this is how we see it happening.
Overall we have a 4 and 4 record. Last Wednesday’s games we incorrectly picked a Saskatchewan and Manitoba loss.
10:00 AM – 7th place game – East Ontario vs. Alberta
Both teams have not played up to potential and this is not the game they expected to be in a week ago. East Ontario has not looked good since early in the second quarter of their first game. The key to this game is the mental state of both teams and if the play makers come to play.
FINAL SCORE ALBERTA 16 EAST ONTARIO 9
1:00 PM – 5th place game – West Ontario vs. Manitoba
Both teams have momentum and both teams offenses performed much better in game 2. The most improved offense from game 1 to game 2 was the West Ontario offense and we think that improvement keeps happening. Expect another big game for Varga and company and West Ontario finishing the tournament 2 and 1 and 5th place.
FINAL SCORE WEST ONTARIO 28 MANITOBA 6
4:00 PM – Bronze medal game – Nova Scotia vs. British Columbia
At the beginning of the tournament no one knew what to expect from both of these provinces after being absent for many years. Both had outstanding and exciting first game performances and both suffered from the turnover bug in game 2. This game again will come down to turnovers and whether Nova Scotia’s pass offense can rebound.

7:00 PM – Gold Medal game – Saskatchewan vs. Quebec
If you put your money on these two teams at the beginning of the tournament then please tell us who you think will win this one. Quebec will have to beat Saskatchewan because they are too well coached and the players are playing with great poise and confidence. Saskatchewan is the smallest team in the tournament but it has not been a factor at all in their two dominating victories. Win the turnover battle and the battle in the trenches and go home with a gold medal.
