Professionalism of Montréal Carabins draws OL to commit

A Montréal-area commit is returning from the 2016 Bol d’Or champions to play with the Carabins.

David Sévigny, an offensive lineman from Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy, has been playing with pride for the past four years and now he will have the chance to show the same commitment for his new team, the Montréal Carabins.

“I chose this school because it’s a professional program,” Sévigny said. “The coaching staff has lots of experience and they know what they are doing. I feel that they will help me to step up and reach my goals.”

Sévigny’s aspirations don’t end with football, however. He said that academically, the school is fulfilling his expectations. While at CNDF, he received a diploma in the technical estimation and evaluation of buildings. He said he wanted to continue on in a program that built off his existing diploma. His plan is to take three certificates in three different areas that relation to his previous qualifications.

Prior to his time with Le Notre-Dame du CNDF (RSEQ Division 1), Sévigny spent three years with Les Loups de l’École secondaire Curé-Antoine-Labelle (RSEQ). He is a two-time RSEQ all-star and in 2015, he was Le Notre-Dame’s offensive lineman MVP. This past season, he and his team captured a Bol d’Or championship.

“I really enjoyed my experience at Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy,” the 6’3, 330lbs guard said. “They are forming good athletes for competition and they are a serious organization who are concern about your success on the field and in class.”

Originally from Laval, Québec, Sévigny has nothing but fond memories of his time away from home. “I’m proud to mention that I have play there and a graduate student from the CNDF football program,” he said. “I want to thank all the coaching staff, school teachers and football staff with whom I have been working since my first year at CNDF.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
