Quarterback Bruno Prud’homme and defensive back Maximilien Ducap Kamara both of the Laval University Rouge et Or and kick returner RaphaΓ«l GagnΓ© of the University of Sherbrooke Vert & Or, have been selected as the Quebec University Football League’s (QUFL) players of the week for the period ending November 7.

The former CollΓ¨ge FranΓ§ois-Xavier-Garneau standout also rushed for 16 yards in the contest.

Highlights : Defensive back Maximilien Ducap Kamara tied a QUFL record with four interceptions in Laval’s 56-1 win over the Bishop’s Gaiters in their conference semi-final Saturday at PEPS Stadium in Quebec City. The four picks equal the record established two weeks ago by Julien Hamel of the Montreal Carabins. The graduate of Notre-Dame du Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy returned his four interceptions for 89 total yards.

Highlights : Kick return specialist RaphaΓ«l GagnΓ© was directly responsible for the Sherbrooke Vert & Or’s historic first-ever playoff win, 33-26 over the Montreal Carabins on Saturday at CEPSUM Stadium. With returns of 71 and 56 yards in the opening half, Gagné’s returns set up a pair of short touchdown runs by Dumas-Goulet. Paired with two field goals, the Vert & Or jumped out to a 19-0 and never looked back. As the game went on, the Carabins avoided kicking the ball to the Administration student who finished the contest with 128 on three returns. It was the first ever win for the Vert & Or at CEPSUM and sends the squad to its first Dunsmore Cup final.
